The short version
No accounts, no advertising cookies, and no sale of personal data.
Contact form
- The form asks for a name, email address, optional company or website, and a message.
- That information is used only to read the inquiry and reply. It is not stored in the database and there is no list to join.
- Spam is handled on this server by a hidden field, a signed timestamp and a rate limit. There is no CAPTCHA and no third-party form service.
Cookies & analytics
I use PostHog to see which pages get read and how people find them. PostHog runs it for me from its EU cloud, in Frankfurt. It records:
- the pages you visit and where you came from
- what you search for on this site
- what you click and how far you scroll
- whether you send me a message through the contact form
- how fast the pages load
- your browser and device
Your browser sends all of this through relay.salmanravoof.com, an address on this site that PostHog manages for me.
What else it keeps depends on your choice.
- If you accept, PostHog sets one cookie,
ph_phc_…_posthog, and keeps a copy in your browser’s storage, so it can tell when you come back. The cookie lasts 12 months after your last visit. PostHog also works out your approximate location, to the city and postal code, from your IP address, and doesn’t keep the address. - If you decline, or haven’t chosen yet, PostHog sets no cookie. It counts your visit with a code it works out on its servers from your IP address and browser, and the code changes every day. It can’t tell it’s you the next day, and it never learns where you are.
- If your browser sends a privacy signal, like Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the site takes that as a decline and doesn’t ask.
- Your choice stays in a cookie the site sets,
sr_consent, for 12 months, so you aren’t asked again. Until you accept, PostHog also keeps a note in your browser’s storage that it can’t use a cookie. - PostHog keeps the records for up to 7 years. I don’t sell any of it or use it for advertising.
- To change your mind, use Cookie choices at the bottom of any page, or the buttons below. You can also ask me not to count you at all, and PostHog won’t load for you.
