Standard Pottery Works (SPW) is an established and well-respected clay tiles brand, especially in South India. As a trusted roofing partner for almost 60 years, SPW aimed to make their digital presence as strong as their offline standing. They’re a part of The Standard Brick and Tile Co., which was founded in the year 1930. I worked with them to set up the branding and content first, and then proceeded to build the website. The website is built on WordPress platform and supports Product Enquiries for their various clay tiles.

Overview

Standard Pottery Works (SPW) is an established and well-respected clay tiles brand, especially in South India. As a trusted roofing partner for almost 60 years, SPW aimed to make their digital presence as strong as their offline standing. They’re a part of The Standard Brick and Tile Co., which was founded in the year 1930.

Our mission is to create a sustainable environment and enable sustainable values with natural products. This in turn ensures a thriving life-long quality and safety for our customers.

A classic business deserves a classic website, and that’s what we set out to do. I set the tone for their branding with the tagline “The Maharaja of Tiles,” owing to their famous Maharaja (Great King) logomark. Then I proceeded to write the content for their brochure, which was then adapted to the website.

The responsive website is powered by WordPress platform and follows modern user interface design principles. Users can place an enquiry for any of SPW’s clay tiles (including variations) through a pop-up form. The captured leads are mailed automatically to the sales team and stored in a backend dashboard.

The Result

The branding and the website feels classic yet modern from the get go. The entire site is themed around clay orange and clay tile textures & patterns. The content is clear, concise and easy to absorb. It’s a great example of how a traditional business can lift themselves up in the digital landscape without sacrificing their heritage.
